We offer boys and girls 2 options for the accommodation:
Live in a host family or Live in a Residence
Both alternatives have their own advantages and it really depends on what you are looking for.
LIving in a Residence: living, studying, playing basketball, and practicing languages together 24 hours/ day in a multicultural environment.
You will live with other campers from Spain and from other countries in a Residence with different rooms for boys and girls. There is no single rooms.
Dormitory rooms are furnished with bunk beds and closets and accommodate 8-12 students, grouped according to age and sex. At least one counselor every 15 campers sleeps in a near bedroom to supervise the campers.
The shared bathrooms located in the hallway on the first floor —2 for women and 2 for men— are very large with separate stalls for sinks, toilets and showers.
The premises have a dining hall, an area for counselors and coaches, common room with TV.
All residential students are on full board, 7 days/week. The meal plan includes breakfast, snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner and snack before to go to sleep.
There is a laundry service included. We ask that students bring a laundry bag and highly recommend that you mark all the student’s clothing with their full names.
• Capacity: 70 students
Living with a Spanish family is one of the best ways to get to know the country, including its culture and its people. It will also allow students to practice the Spanish language in a natural way.
Students can choose to become a part of a Spanish family through our home stay program. From 9:00 am to 8:00 pm they participate in all camp activities – language lessons, basketball instruction, swimming pool, sports, lunch and excursions – but they return home to their family at dinnertime. Students also take part in the excursions during the weekend and 2 or 3 days per week in the Nigh-Time Basketball at the camp.
The majority of the host families are near the school, around 10 or 15 minutes walking. If students live in a residencial area —around 30 minutes walking—, they will be provided with a transport card for buses and tram. All the quarters of the city are connected to the centre by urban buses or tram running every 10-15 minutes.
The families are selected and visited regularly by our staff. In all of them, students will find a warm atmosphere that will help them get integrated into the family and city life very quickly.
Students will have a single room or a twin room for friends or for two students from the same family coming together and they can select being with full or with half board.
The family provides the bed linen and towels and will have laundry once or twice a week and they should keep their room clean and tidy, and share the housework with the rest of the family.
As in any family around the world, there are also a series of rules students must follow: be punctual to meal hours, let the host know if they are not having lunch or dinner at home, phone when arriving late... |
